Perfect Diary could be unfamiliar to some, but it is one of the rising beauty brand from China. I had seen this brand on both the Taobao app and Shopee SG apps but never came around trying their products.
After my friend’s recommendation that Perfect Diary products are pretty good, I decided to try out their products, with the first product being the Perfect Diary Readme Lipstick.
When the Singapore Government decided to mandate mask wearing, one of the saddest part for me was that I can no longer wear lipsticks that could potentially be as dark as my soul. 🤣 Not because I couldn’t, but I thought it was pretty unhygienic to have the lipstick colour sticking onto my mask should I wear them.
It was a weird feeling honestly to go without a lipstick at work… And sometimes, my colleagues even asked if I am feeling unwell since I looked paler than usual.
However, thanks to a friend who had introduced me to a new lipstick product, I am back to wearing lipsticks at work.
2020 was supposed to be an awesome leap year but instead the world is affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, where we have been living with it for close to 6 months.
For Singapore, strict laws have been put in place where everyone is expected to wear a mask once they are in public areas. If one is caught without a mask in public, you will be fined or in extreme cases; jailed.
Given that mask wearing is part of the routine now, I started to giving myself excuses not to use my cushion/foundation as they will stain the masks, which makes my mask unhygienic (the counter argument would be there there are now products that are mask friendly, which I will talk about in a separate post in the near future). What I generally focused on in terms of my make up are (1) eyebrows and (2) eyelids.
Thought I should attempt this after being inspired from influencers from sharing their favourite haul for the month, top 10 products, empties haul so I thought I should give it a try as well.
Here’s my March Look, which I will share the list of products (with photos) that I have used to produce the “look”.
Disclaimer: I am NOT a professional when it comes to applying makeup (and I don’t think I will ever become a professional lol). So there will be cases whereby I didn’t do my makeup well enough. Pardon me for my lack of skills! If you have tips that you want to share, feel free to let me know! 🙂
Laneige is a rather well known brand that can be found widely in Singapore. Few years ago, they launched a lipstick that was dual tone, which I really liked as I ended up buying a lot of the lipsticks in different shades.
In 2019, Laneige launched their layering lip bar, which consist of 6 colours in the same lipstick. The 6 layers was to help create the gradient effect using one swipe.
Founder of Fenty Beauty, Rihanna; launched a new product for her makeup brand over last Christmas and the hype continues till today.
The product that RiRi launched was the Mattemoiselle, a lipstick that encompass a matte finish but it’s also provides moisture to your lips. The product must have been well liked as a number of shades were unavailable whenever I visit the Sephora stores in Singapore.
While it’s true that Fenty Beauty is a relatively new player in the makeup industry, it is still a popular brand these days. With a total of 50 (yes 50!) shades of foundation and marketing themselves as a brand any woman out there could use, regardless of their skin color, Fenty Beauty have definitely gotten my attention.
